Style to Steal: Wallpaper in Bathrooms

You all know I love me some wallpaper. I can't get enough of it, really. There are so many fun prints and colors that just make me happy, but I will admit, sometimes wallpaper is too busy. Too bright, too obnoxious, too much to look at all the time. That doesn't mean I don't like it, I just wouldn't want to look at it for 8 hours every day. You know what I mean? It goes with the saying, everything in moderation. Ice cream is one of my favorite desserts, but I certainly don't eat it every day (although I probably would if I was 10 years old again.)

That's the beauty of putting wallpaper in bathrooms. It's a small enough space so it does not cost fortunes, and it's separate from the house so you aren't looking at it for hours on end. Imagine wallpapering the biggest wall in your living room. That would be overwhelming for me and guests, and I would probably tire of it much more quickly.

Let's look at some inspiration shall we...

One Color Five Ways

// 2 // 3 // 4

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas celebration with family and friends. The past week I have been back in my hometown (population 1,000!) relaxing and working on some things. The new year is always full of goals and resolutions, so I have been thinking about what I want to accomplish in 2014. It's also a big milestone as I approach my one year blogging anniversary! Proof that time really does fly by. So much has changed in the past year and I'm anticipating even more change in the upcoming months (think: graduation). So exciting! I will be writing a recap post of the past year and I also want to share my new year's resolutions so stay tuned :)

Anyhoo, on with the fun stuff. Did you hear the color of 2014? Every year Pantone names a color of the year and this year it is radiant orchid. Which actually is one of my favorite colors!

I'm going to keep this short and sweet and let the pictures do the talking because I managed to catch a terrible cold/sore throat a couple days ago. This thing is persistent and doesn't want to go away, so I'm left sniffling and sneezing like it's my job. I put together a board showing how I would style the color of the year. It's a rich color, so a little goes a long way. I decided the foyer is the perfect place for a splash of bright, cheerful color. Nothing like a good first impression! I'm obsessed with the wallpaper (and wallpaper in general.) This is one of my favorite shots of the wallpaper. Isn't it adorable and completely fab?

Worth Stealing {Wallpaper}

Some of you are probably shaking your head in disgust at the computer screen with the thought of even mentioning wallpaper, let alone suggesting it. Thought wallpaper was a thing of the past and had no chance of a comeback? Like any trend that comes and goes, it returns with a slight twist. These are not your everyday small floral prints that you remember growing up. Now I'm not saying you should go wallpaper your entire house, but a little wallpaper can spruce up a room if you're looking for major change.

Window treatments pull a whole room together and are an easy way to bring in fun prints and colors. Wallpaper is just another way to bring interest to a room and make it feel complete. Imagine what the bathroom above would look like without the wallpaper. It would have no visual interest and I definitely wouldn't be showing it to you guys as inspiration.

I'm sure you all have your opinions on it so I'd love to hear them!

 Wallpaper doesn't have to mean wild prints. I love the old painted wood wallpaper from Anthropologie. It has a worn effect that is perfect for a rustic look, which we all know I love :)

Which one is your favorite?
